Celebrating the Seasons for 2018: Women’s Yoga Circles
For many years I have looked to the seasonal shifts as a time for reflection and guidance in my own practice. This year, I’ll be running Sunday events closest to the dates which are celebrated in the Pagan calendar. They roll around every 6 weeks and provide enough of a touchstone to note the shifts that are happening all around us in nature as well as in our own bodies and lives.

Sunday Yoga Circles will be an opportunity for you to attend a gentle yoga ritual using poetry, nourishing movements and resting postures as a way to reflect and perhaps share with others your wishes and intentions for each season. By tuning into the natural rhythms and energies of the seasonal shift we recognise that there are times of growth, light and abundance, as well as decay, shadow times and loss. Welcoming all of these aspects of being human can be a powerful way to acknowledge and respond perfectly to whatever situation we are in and manifest the life we want to live.

The investment will be $25 per event and I’ll advertise each one of these closer to the time but here are the dates:

Late Summer – Sunday 11th February, 6.30-8.30pm

Autumn Equinox – Sunday 18th March, 6.00-8.30pm

End of the Harvest – Sunday 29th April, 9.30am-4pm

Winter Solstice – A Weekend event – 22nd-24th  June – The Yoga Sutras

Early Spring – Sunday  29th July, 6.00-8.30pm

Spring Equinox – Sunday 23rd September, 6.00-8.30pm

Beginning of Summer – Sunday 28th October, 6.00-8.30pm

Summer Solstice – Friday 21st December

Finding Stillness – Exploring the Yoga Sutras
I’m very excited to be hosting my long time yoga buddy, Lynda Miers-Henneveld, for a whole weekend workshop on the Yoga Sutras; the ancient text that tells us what Yoga really is, what we can practice to find the state of Yoga as well as what gets in the way. Gain a deeper understanding of the true roots of yoga philosophy on this weekend as we explore key sutras from chapter one.

The workshop will take place over the Winter Solstice weekend – 22nd-24th June. It’s the perfect opportunity and time of year to feel into the pause. There will be some sanskrit chanting and discussions that will break the aphorisms down into a clear and relevant interpretation so you can apply the theory into your own practice. This workshop will be relevant to any yogi, no matter what style you practice as it isn’t so much about techniques and postures but rather the underlying foundations that motivate and guide the practice. Details for this will be coming out soon.

Cultivating Kindness: Restorative Yoga Retreat
Yay! Time for another restful wintery retreat that I’ll be co-teaching with my soul sister Karla Brodie at Kimi Ora in Kaiterteri near Motueka. This time it will be a 4-day event from the 9-12th August to soak up time cultivating kindness within and towards ourselves so that we can then shine that quality out into the world. It will be a weekend of heartfelt self-care, including delicious food and time in nature. More details will be coming soon but if you already know you want to sign up, email me with your intention at
