Your Yoga: Cultivating a Nourishing Self-Practice
Develop a sustainable and nourishing Self-Practice with this self-paced, anytime online course.
If you’ve been attending classes for a while or even if you have many years of practice and teaching behind you, the ongoing stresses, distractions and life changes can throw us off regularly committing to our own personal practice. This course will inspire and help you reflect on the obstacles that stop you showing up for yourself. You will learn practical tools and frameworks to establish a commitment to an authentic and joyful practice that can travel with you whatever life serves up.
Self-Practice Community Sessions
I have been organising and facilitating in-person and online Self-Practice groups for many years. These sessions provide a friendly and motivating environment where you can practice yoga in response to your own needs whilst feeling the support of facilitated inquiry and a connection of community.
This is not a typical guided class format and I won’t be telling you what forms to inhabit but rather suggesting approaches, principles or frameworks that you might consider as you practice. You will need to have a couple of years’ experience with yoga and a desire to practice at home.
The facilitated time of practice includes:
- An initial inquiry or guided meditation
- A held silent space for practice
- A guided relaxation to finish
- An option to share your experience at the end
Perhaps you have a particular sequence that you follow which is very welcome and in these sessions you will also be encouraged to respond to what is arising in your own body-mind complex and make choices based on your own needs and to enjoy evolving a sustainable self-practice. Being able to develop a responsive practice is an empowering process that offers a sense of agency, self-trust and self-care.
Your teaching/guiding has always seemed to meet our virtual group exactly where we were at. I really appreciated the offerings of different pathways into beginning a self practice – soma scans; checking in with the Koshas; the Vayus and personal weather reports….Thank you!
There were many treasures from our self-practices – especially during the variations of lockdowns – the opportunity to create community, refresh our practice, discover so much variation in practice – keeping me so interested and invested. It became quite a sacred time for me.
I am so grateful for Sam’s guidance and invitation in Nourishing Yoga Habits. I feel each session gifts me another gem that I take away into my everyday, that reminds me I have an alternative to how I use my body and to keep being curious as to how to move more easefully.
